The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Sunday that they've signed veteran defenceman
Mark Giordano to a two-year contract extension worth $1.6 million ($800,000 AAV).
Giordano, 38, was traded to Toronto along with forward
Colin Blackwell on March 20th from the Seattle Kraken to help bolster their d-core for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs.
In twenty regular season games with the Maple Leafs, the Toronto native had twelve points (two goals, ten assists), ten penalty minutes and was a plus-twelve. Giordano went on to add two assists and six penalty minutes in seven playoff games as the Maple Leafs lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round.
