Penguins Getting Jarry Back for Game 7 Would Be Massive; More Than Some Might Expect

Naturally, Mike Sullivan is keeping his cards close to his chest. But Tristan Jarry will probably start for the Penguins' Game 7 showdown vs. NYR tonight:

The absence of Pittsburgh's starting goalie is an obvious explanation for their woes against the New York Rangers. Then factor in the absence of Sidney Crosby & it becomes outright clear the Penguins are in trouble. It is clear as day that the Penguins have been the better team, but just how much better may surprise you.

Speaking strictly offense/defense, the Rangers have bordered on pathetic in the postseason:

The Rangers' play-driving is league-worst in the playoffs on both sides of the puck. Hardly news, but the gap between the two clubs is insane given the series is tied 3-3. For those who haven't been following the series closely, there is really one reason the series is tied (two if you count Crosby, but even so): Louis Domingue, surprisingly (not actually surprisingly), isn't very good:

His goals saved above expected is league-worst & I don't even want to know what his low percentage SV% is...

Even though Jarry hasn't started in weeks, the Penguins simply cannot rely on Spicy Pork & Broccoli in a winner-take-all scenario. So, if Jarry can go he will absolutely start.

But will a healthy-ish Crosby & Jarry be enough for Pittsburgh? Or are they destined for a fourth consecutive first-round departure? Game 7 is sure to be exciting.
