Playoff Preview: Who Has the Edge in STL vs. MIN?

The second playoff series to be finalized is the Minnesota Wild & St. Louis Blues.

Here's how the two teams measure up analytically:

Now, the Blues are 13-1-2 against the Wild under Craig Berube and the season series is close enough; save the 9-1 demolition of the Wild April 9.

St. Louis is built to play any style of hockey, which will prove difficult for the Wild. While Minnesota has top-end skill, they don't play a particularly gritty style which is a necessity in the playoffs.

So it seems as though St. Louis would be the betting favorite in this series.

It is really lame, however, that two of the league's best teams are squaring off in the first round of the playoffs.
