Official that was cut on ice during U18 tournament making recovery
After receiving a severe laceration injury to his hand during the USA-Latvia quarterfinal game on April 28th, IIHF official Lukas Kohlmuller underwent immediate emergency surgery. On Friday, it was announced that his surgery went well and he is currently in recovery.
"I had a chance to talk briefly with Lukas this morning and I am happy to report that he is in good spirits and has mobility in his hands and fingers," said Local Organizing Committee President Franz Reindl.
"I would like to commend the swift reaction of the arena medical staff and the Team USA doctor for their immediate assistance to Lukas Kohlmuller on the ice."
