Lars Eller Crunches Kotkaniemi With One Second Left On The Clock

At the culmination of a chippy contest, Lars Eller wasn't content with watching teammate Tom Wilson be the only one to get his licks in. Wilson leveled Hurricanes' C Vincent Trocheck with a vicious hit (https://www.markerzone.com/news/index.php?no=110756) & dropped the mitts with D Brendan Smith. He absolutely dummied Smith, too for the record. But Lars Eller is a guy who likes to get in on the action too. So, with one second left on the clock he saw his opportunity; as Kotkaniemi carries the puck up the wall, Eller lines him up & hits him on the blind side. Check it out:

Fortunately, Eller avoided hitting the head of Kotkaniemi, but KK was still injured on the play & needed help down the tunnel. Hopefully KK's injury isn't too serious & he's back playing soon. Eller was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for Charging Kotkaniemi.
