QMJHL announces suspension for player for violating league's anti-discrimination policy

Lou-Félix Denis of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Shawinigan Cataractes has been handed a five-game suspension after violating the league's anti-discrimination policy. The league made the announcement in a news release.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today that Shawinigan Cataractes forward Lou-Félix Denis has been suspended for five (5) games for violating the anti-discrimination policy.

The suspension was handed out following inappropriate language that occurred on March 6 against the Gatineau Olympiques. - QMJHL

While the release did not get into specifics, TSN's Rick Westhead said on Twitter that the incident dealt with a comment directed at a Russian player.

In Quebec's major-junior hockey league, Shawinigan's Lou-Félix Denis has been suspended five game after allegedly targeting Russian player Evgenii Kashnikov with an inappropriate comment during a game. - Rick Westhead

There have been a few of these incidents since Russia launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine.
