Jenya Feldman, a Canadian girls hockey coach, recently moved both his players and program to Florida after being suspended by the Ontario Women's Hockey Association, and there is nothing they can do to stop him.
Feldman was suspended 15 years for verbal abuse as well as inciting violence during a team meeting in December 2020. The decision was made after an audio recording, which was taped by a player, was heard in a board meeting. It was described as «tantamount to inciting and condoning violence,» as well as «extremely inappropriate in any setting.»
While Feldman is not able to apply for reinstatement until May 31, 2036, he had little to no issue keeping his sports boarding school operating. To do this, he took his students to Florida in mid-April with a travelling team that he claims will help showcase them to U.S. college recruiters.
Feldman is also accused of doing other things such as repeatedly criticizing one of his player's weight on multiple occasions, and had mocked players who claimed to be injured. This is a very unfortunate situation given that he has basically avoided any type of trouble here, but if his behavior continues, this may not be the last we hear of his name.
