The Chicago Blackhawks future looks very bright with
Connor Bedard leading the way, but it appears Ryan Greene may not want to sign and join No. 98 anytime soon.
With Bedard leading the way, the Blackhawks are confident they can build a winner around him, but in a major blow, it appears as though former second-round pick Ryan Greene won't be with the team anytime soon. According to a report, Greene will likely return to Boston University for his junior season, foregoing his first professional contract to play alongside Bedard in Chicago.
My sense is that #Blackhawks 2nd round pick Ryan Greene will return to BU for his junior season. No official announcement has been made but I think Chicago is going to have to wait one more season.
The 20-year old center has had two very consistent seasons at BU, notching 67 points in 78 games played, and with another year of experience under his belt, he should be able to hit the ground running when he eventually lands with the Blackhawks.
It has been rumoured that Ryan Greene, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the boyfriend of Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes' daughter Morgann, may be interested in joining the team near his hometown. We will see whether Greene signs in Chicago next year.
