Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Monday morning that the province has moved up the initial phase of reopening by four days and the second phase of reopening by fourteen days.

Starting on Thursday, February 17th, capacity limits in entertainment venues, including Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, will go to 50%.

Then, twelve days later on Tuesday, March 1st, the province will eliminate all capacity limits, as well as getting rid of the vaccine passport system.

"Thanks to the efforts of Ontarians to help blunt the transmission of Omicron, our health care indicators suggest a general improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the province," Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario's chief medical officer of health.

Toronto's first game with 50% capacity will be on Thursday night against Pittsburgh, and then their first game with full capacity will be on Wednesday, March 2nd against the Buffalo Sabres.

As for the Senators, their first game at 50% will be on Saturday against the Boston Bruins and their first game back at 100% capacity will be on Thursday, March 10th against Seattle.
