Appearing on TSN's The Insiders Tuesday night, Darren Dreger had some good news for anyone hoping for a Dustin Byfuglien return to the NHL. According to Dreger, there is "growing optimism" that the big blueliner will return to the Winnipeg Jets sooner rather than later.

"Now, clearly there's nothing official. There's no guarantee. There's no timeline on when Byfuglien may return and you're not going to get the Winnipeg Jets to confirm nor deny," Dreger said. "It's just a sense that he's more likely to return than not, which is saying something, considering all the speculation over the last few weeks. Despite the concerns over the time missed, he would be a welcomed addition to a very inexperienced blueline."

Byfuglien has not played a game this season after asking for a personal leave of absence to decide his NHL future. The Jets have gone a respectable 4-3-0 so far without Byfuglien.
