Buffalo Sabres rookie Victor Olofsson has set a new NHL record by becoming the first player to score his first seven career goals on the power play.

The previous record was held by 3 different players; Craig Norwich (1979-80), Sylvain Turgeon (1983-84), and Jeff Norton (1987-88), all of which scored the first six goals of their career on the power play.

Olofsson, who was Buffalo's 7th round pick in 2014, now has five goals in six games to start the 2019-2020 season, and his record dates back to last season, where he recorded two goals in six games with the Sabres.

The Buffalo Sabres currently sit at the top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 5-0-1, and a large part of that success comes from the play of the young Swede.
