One of the biggest blockbuster deals of the offseason came when the Chicago Blackhawks chose to move Adam Boqvist and three draft picks to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Seth Jones.

While most of the attention on this trade was centered around Jones, Boqvist is a very solid player in his own right. The 21-year-old, who was taken eighth overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, admitted recently to being very surprised when he learned he was traded this summer. According to him, his agent was told by Blackhawks management that he wouldn't be dealt. On top of the surprise value, he also learned about the trade from Instagram. Despite how it all played out however, he appears to be very happy with where he is now.

«I'm happy in Columbus,» Boqvist said. «This is where I want to be.»

When healthy, Boqvist has been a great addition for the Blue Jackets this season with seven goals and 14 points in 23 games. His offensive abilities are really coming out this year, and should only continue to improve more in future seasons.
