It may be more out of necessity than anything else, but Matt Murray has been called up to the Ottawa Senators after a two game stint with the team's AHL affiliate in Belleville.

Since clearing waivers and being sent down, Murray is 1-1-0 with a .918 save percentage and a 2.55 goals against average with the team in Belleville.
Murray was demoted to the minors after some terrible performances so far this season. The stint was likely going to be longer, but both Filip Gustavsson and Anton Forsberg are currently in COVID protocol, leaving the Senators little choice but to call Murray back up to the main roster. Ottawa's next game, interestingly enough, is against the Pittsburgh Penguins on New Year's Eve. Murray won two Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 2016 and 2017.
