The Minnesota Wild struggled a bit before the break, as the team lost 4 in a row and went from the top of the league to just a one-point lead in the Central Division. The worst part is that in the team's game versus the Stars, they also lost their top center Joel Eriksson Ek due to an injury.

The Wild were already without Jared Spurgeon and Jordan Greenway because of nagging injuries, and Eriksson Ek's injury could not have come at a worse time.

No additional information has been given for his injury so there is currently no timetable for his return. With this being said, the team will need to find someone to help replace Eriksson Ek's play during his absence.

Since the team will surely be looking for a spark, this would be a great time to call up one of their top prospects, Marco Rossi. Rossi has been an absolute stud in the AHL with the Iowa Wild tallying 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) in 18 games.

If Rossi were to play in more than 9 games during the regular season, the first year of his entry-level contract would be burned, but it could be worth it in the end for the Wild to place one of the top prospects in hockey into their lineup.
