On Monday, Team Canada announced their leadership group for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, which is set to get underway on Sunday, December 26th.

Montreal Canadiens 2020 first round pick Kaiden Guhle has been named captain, while St. Louis Blues 2020 first round pick Jake Neighbours, and Winnipeg Jets 2020 first round pick Cole Perfetti have been named alternate captains.

Guhle and Perfetti are Canada's only two returning skaters from the 2021 team that came away with the silver medal following a loss to the United States in the gold medal game. Goaltender Dylan Garand also returns to the team.

Canada will kick-off their tournament on Boxing Day against the Czech Republic at 7pm ET/5pm MT (local). They'll also face Austria, Germany, and Finland in the group stage.
