Storhamar, of the Norwegian hockey league GET-ligaen, is not messing around after an incident between two teammates that saw one crosscheck the other in the head during practice. Rasmus Ahlholm is no longer allowed to practice with the team, and further punishment may be coming.

"He will not train with the team until we have made further progress in the matter," said Storhamar's sports director Mads Hansen.

Hansen also said he's not ruling out cutting Ahlholm from the team completely, even though he is one of Storhamar's best players.

Former NHLer Patrick Thoresen is Storhamar's captain. He is not happy with Ahlholm.

"It's completely unacceptable for a teammate to do something like that to another," said Thoresen, who played for both the Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL.

Ahlholm has claimed there were incidents leading up to this one that culminated in the crosscheck to Jacob Lundell Noer. Thorsesen confirmed there were arguments between the two, and said he met with Ahlholm before the incident to discuss the matter. Lundell Noer is back to practicing with the team.

"We had been at each other, back and forth, something that had been building throughout practice," said Ahlholm on Tuesday. "Then I completely misinterpreted the situation and everything had a very unfortunate outcome where I went after him and he after the puck."
