Following a scary scene at United Center in Chicago on Tuesday, which saw Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira carted off the ice on a stretcher after being knocked unconscious due to a hard body check by New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba, it is being reported that Khaira has been released from the hospital is expected to make a full recovery.
The play occurred a little over 6 minutes into the second period when Khaira put his head down to track a puck that was between his feet. Trouba came in to finish a hard check and caught Khaira complete off guard just inside of the Chicago blueline, rendering him unconscious and laying motionless on the ice.

Khaira was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and was reportedly awake and responsive, which was a huge relief, given how severe the collision looked at the time.
The Blackhawks released a statement on Wednesday regarding Khaira's status, but at this point, they haven't put a timeline on his recovery.
"Despite the significant injury, his prognosis is excellent, and we expect a full recovery. At this point, it is too early to put a timeline on return to play."
Khaira has appeared in 18 games for the Blackhawks this season, notching just 2 goals over that span.
