A scary sight for New York Rangers fans on Friday night as goaltender
Igor Shesterkin was forced out of the net early in the first period with an injury.
The incident occurred 5:08 into the third period when the Sharks and Rangers were battling for a puck in front of Shesterkin. It's unclear on how he sustained the injury, or what the injury is, but he didn't put any weight on his right leg when being helped off the ice by trainers.
New York went on to win their fifth game in a row This one finished 1-0, with Shesterkin recording the win and shutout.
The Moscow, Russia native has appeared in eighteen games for the Rangers this season and has a record of 12-3-2 with a 2.05 G.A.A., a .937 save percentage, and one shutout.
