After abruptly resigning from his position as assistant general manager for the Montreal Canadiens, Scott Mellanby has already been linked to another team, and he might be staying in Canada.

According to Rick Dhaliwal, Mellanby has been receiving interest from the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver has had a very disappointing season thus far like the Canadiens, and rumors have been swirling that the team will be making changes at some point this season.

Mellanby would likely be hired in a front office position if Jim Benning or any other executives were to resign or get fired, and it seems that he could help turn the Canucks underperforming team around.

The Canucks are loaded with talent including the likes of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Brock Boeser, Bo Horvat, and J.T. Miller. One has to wonder if bringing in a new coach and front office would help turn the team around, as it seems that there may be some turmoil between the two sides.
