Reports coming out on Monday confirmed that the Boston Bruins and winger Jake Debrusk may be preparing to part ways this season, with DeBrusk in pursuit of a fresh start with another team.

One team that had been rumoured to have shown interest in DeBrusk during the offseason was the Ottawa Senators, TSN's Bruce Garrioch reported via Twitter on Monday evening.

It's certainly possible, at least in Garrioch's mind, that the Senators could have a renewed interest in DeBrusk now that his availability is out in the open.

For the time being, DeBrusk remains a Bruin and will continue to play and practice with the team while the organization works to facilitate a trade.

DeBrusk was drafted by the Bruins in the first round, 14th overall, back in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The 25-year-old has registered 140 points across 261 career NHL games.
