The icy relationship between the New York Rangers and former 9th overall pick Vitali Kravtsov continues. After refusing to report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL out of the Rangers training camp, Kravtsov returned to Russia to await a trade. Now, it appears Kravtzov will go back to playing for his old KHL team for this season.

According to Sport24.ru, the Rangers have agreed to loan Kravtsov to Chelyabinsk Traktor and negotiations are already underway on a salary for this season.

Kravtzov played for Tractor last season as well, but played in 20 games for the Rangers during the COVID shortened 2020-21 year. He had four points (2G, 2A) and was a minus-6 over the span.

It's clear the relationship between Kravtzov and the Rangers needs to end as the back and forth over Kravtzov wanting to play in the NHL but apparently not being good enough to make the team has been going on since he was drafted in 2018. Kravtzov has previously stated he has no problem playing in the AHL if traded, but won't do so for the Rangers.
