Nearly two years after Akim Aliu brought former head coach Bill Peters' racist language to light, it appears there is an update on the situation.

According to Frank Seravalli, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly has come out to say that the investigation has concluded. Along with this, Daly said that the NHL has contacted Aliu's representative for any next steps. However, the problem is that Aliu's representative came out to say that it is not true.

Aliu's rep is Ben Meiselas, and he stated on Twitter that the news is not true at all, and that the NHL has not been in touch with him or his client in over a year. To add to this, the investigation was not just about Peters, but it also went into other areas of racism that Akim experienced during his career. Apparently, witnesses have also not been contacted yet.

This seems like a somewhat shady development considering the NHL has had a lot of trouble with investigations lately. Hopefully they get this one right and have better communication with Aliu and his representative.
