Kevin Cheveldayoff, general manager of the Winnipeg Jets and Assistant GM with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, won't be speaking to the media Monday as initially planned. We already know Cheveldayoff won't be facing any punishment from the NHL for his role in the Blackhawks' sexual assault cover up. However, Cheveldayoff was to meet with media Monday to discuss his role further.

"The @NHLJets will delay today's media availability with GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and owner, Mark Chipman until tomorrow," said TSN's Darren Dreger on Twitter. "Chipman has a severe case of vertigo. He is being treated by doctors. The Jets owner insists on being with Cheveldayoff when he meets with media tomorrow."

As for Chipman's insistence on being available for the meeting with media, it's expected he will state why the Jets are keeping Cheveldayoff despite the current situation.

As most hockey fans are aware by now, Kyle Beach is embroiled in a lawsuit with the Chicago Blackhawks over sexual assault he faced as a member of the team in 2010 from then video coach Brad Aldrich. Cheveldayoff was the team's assistant GM at the time. Joel Quenneville, who was Chicago's coach in 2010, resigned from his position with the Florida Panthers after meeting with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. It's not known if this was Quenneville's choice, or whether he would have been fired anyway.

Meanwhile, TSN's Rick Westhead is reporting that Beach no longer wants to be listed as "John Doe" in the lawsuit against Chicago.

"Moving forward, it's 'Kyle Beach vs Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Club'," said Westhead. "Also, request to court to add 'fraudulent concealment' allegation. No limitations issues with fraud."
