Kyle Beach has received a ton of press over the past few days, and rightfully so, given the heavy burden that he has had to carry alone for the past 11 years, following (trigger warning) a sexual assault at the hands of former Blackhawks video coach and convicted sex offender Brad Aldrich back in 2010.

Beach had revealed himself as "John Doe 1" on Wednesday in the lawsuit against the Blackhawks in a live interview on Sports Centre with TSN's Rick Westhead, the journalist who brought this story to light and gave Beach a chance to hold the team accountable for their actions - or a lack thereof.

Since the results of the Jenner & Block investigation were revealed on Tueaday in a 107-page report, we have seen Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman, VP Al MacIsaac and former head coach Joel Quenneville all vacated from their positions, with the NHL also speaking with Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff on Friday. No discipline was dolled out to Cheveldayoff, who was reportedly cooperative with the league and found, rightly or wrongly, to have had no real involvement in the scandal.

The next step in this saga is expected to take place on Saturday, with Beach having accepted meetings with both Commissioner Bettman and NHLPA head, Donald Fehr via zoom.

These two separate meetings were arranged via Susan Loggans, Beach's attorney after the NHL and the NHLPA reached out for the opportunity to touch base with Beach.

«Kyle's reaction was that he's glad that they are paying attention what he brought to their attention 10 years ago,» Loggans informed AP on Friday.

While it's unclear at this point what these meetings will entail, perhaps we will see a collaborative effort between Beach, the NHL and the PA to form some sort of a system for players and other employees to be able to report situations like these to ensure that nothing is ever swept under the rug in the NHL again.
