B/R Open Ice just flagged that Brady Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk both drew 10-minute misconducts three minutes apart in Panthers-Bruins.

The game is now final, a 4-1 Boston win over Florida. The Panthers' captain had already gone after Nikita Zadorov off the opening draw, as we reported in Brady Tkachuk's puck-drop fight with Zadorov, so this one was never going to be quiet.

B/R Open Ice noted that the brothers were both finished for the day, with the two misconducts landing just three minutes apart.

Jack Studley reported that the referees sent Matthew down the tunnel with 8:08 left in the third period. That puts his early exit in the final stretch of a game Boston ended up winning by three.

It comes right after a busy Saturday for both. Brady scored twice in Florida's 4-3 loss at Washington, while Matthew picked up three assists and played 23:55.

The standings context makes the night sting more. Before today's game, Boston sat 12-4-1 and first in the Atlantic Division, while Florida was 9-6-2 and fifth in the same division.

Those records do not include today's result, so the gap between the two teams is wider now.

Does this cost the Panthers more than one game?

Nothing in the post says anything about supplemental discipline, so there is no word yet on whether the league will look at either player. That stays open until the NHL says otherwise.

What is clear is the scoreboard. Gloves off at the opening draw, two misconducts later, and Florida had one goal to show for it. For a team that was 15th in the NHL before today, emotion is not producing points.

The Tkachuks have been in the headlines all week, and Matthew Tkachuk's shot at the Senators over a sellout claim was only the start. Now the noise has moved to the ice.

Florida is at Columbus on Tuesday, November 10. Boston hosts Montreal on Thursday, November 12.
