Brady Tkachuk had a message for the Ottawa bench after scoring in his return, and the Florida Panthers didn't score again.

Senators owner Michael Andlauer revealed it on the Coming In Hot Sens podcast: "Some things never change, eh boys."

The graphic making the rounds pairs him in Panthers white with an inset of him wearing the C in a Senators sweater.

Then came the part he'd probably like back. Ottawa scored five unanswered goals and won 5-1 last Wednesday.

It's the hockey version of texting your ex that you're doing great, then locking your keys in the car five minutes later.

Chirping your old bench is fine. Doing it while the game is still wide open is a bad idea, and this one proved it.

So who really got the last word?

What Brady Tkachuk said to Ottawa's bench makes the Panthers' collapse even more awkward

Brady Tkachuk's goal was Florida's only one of the night.

The Panthers were blanked 4-0 in Pittsburgh the very next night.

The Senators are 8-4-0 and sit second in the Atlantic.

Linus Ullmark owns a .945 save percentage, and Tim Stutzle leads the team with 16 points.

Stutzle and Drake Batherson have combined for 15 goals.

The Senators split their next two after that win, falling 6-2 to San Jose before beating the Rangers 7-4.

To his credit, the Panthers forward keeps producing. He has 7 goals through 12 games.

Four of those have come over his last 5 games.

Three of his goals have come on the power play, and he carries an $8,208,714 cap hit.

Florida needs every one of them. Aleksander Barkov is out until at least November 27, and Brad Marchand is on IR until at least November 21 with a leg injury.

Paul Maurice's Panthers are 6-4-2 and sixth in the Atlantic.

Matthew Tkachuk leads the team with 16 points, including 8 power-play assists.

Florida visits Winnipeg tonight, while Ottawa plays in Vegas.

The rematch comes November 25 in Florida. Whatever Brady Tkachuk says to the Ottawa bench that night, he'd better save it for the final horn.
