Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen was furious Sunday after a hit from Florida's Radko Gudas went uncalled.

It came with a little over 4 minutes left in the second period, and it sent the 32-year-old to the ice with his helmet popping off.

Broadcast replays appeared to show Gudas' elbow catching Teravainen's jaw.

He was slow to get up. He didn't protest right away, but the anger showed once he reached the Chicago bench.

To be fair, Gudas looked like he was trying to drive through the chest. That doesn't do much for Teravainen's jaw.

He's been one of the few steady pieces in Chicago lately, with 2 goals over his last 5 games.

So where exactly is the line?

Here is the clip :

Radko Gudas knocks Teuvo Teravainen's helmet off in controversial no-call

Artyom Levshunov was slow to get up late in the first period after a big hit from Carter Verhaeghe.

The teams were tied 2-2 deep into the second period.

Letting the Gudas hit go was the wrong call. When a helmet comes off and the replays point at the jaw, a whistle has to follow.

Watching it go uncalled felt like a fender-bender where the other driver just waves and keeps rolling.

Gudas hasn't recorded a point in 7 games this season. Paul Maurice dresses him for a different job.

The 36-year-old carries a $1,500,000 cap hit and went minus-3 over his last 5 games.

Does the league take a second look?

The Blackhawks came into Sunday at 3-7-0, and Bowen Byram was already day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Patrick Kane and Anton Frondell share the team lead with 6 points, and Teravainen is right behind them with 5.

Chicago pays him $5,400,000 to make plays. Peeling himself off the ice wasn't in the job description.

Florida arrived on a two-game skid and without Aleksander Barkov, who's out until at least November 27. The Panthers head to Winnipeg next.

The Blackhawks host Los Angeles on Tuesday. Whether Teravainen is in that lineup will say plenty about what that hit really cost.
