Beckett Sennecke and the Ducks delivered the best moment of a loaded Friday night, even if the scoreboard didn't cooperate in Anaheim.

Here's the countdown of the five plays that stood out across the league, starting with one the league office might want to see again.

No. 5: Nikita Zadorov drew a double minor for interference and roughing on Frank Vatrano, catching the Ducks forward up high twice in the same sequence.

The Department of Player Safety might take a look. Boston still won the game, but Zadorov finished with six penalty minutes in 17:42 of ice time.

No. 4: Nathan MacKinnon buried a one-timer on the power play while falling to the ice, the kind of finish only a handful of players even attempt.

It was part of a four-point night for the Avalanche star, who fired nine shots on goal.

He now sits at 16 points through eight games.

Pittsburgh's old guard still owns the highlight reel

No. 3: Evgeni Malkin took the puck and did it all himself, finishing a solo effort against Colorado at 40 years old.

That's his fourth goal of the season, even in a 5-2 loss that stretched Pittsburgh's skid to two.

No. 2: Sidney Crosby threaded a gorgeous feed to Bryan Rust for a goal in that same game.

The helper moved No. 87 into seventh place on the NHL's all-time assists list. Rust now has three goals in five games.

No. 1: Sennecke finished off an unreal passing sequence by the Ducks, a string of passes that pulled Boston's coverage apart before he buried it.

It came 21 seconds after Timmy Washe scored, giving Anaheim two goals in a flash to close out the first period.

The 20-year-old now has five goals this season.

Cutter Gauthier, Jackson Lacombe, Tristan Luneau and Nikita Nesterenko all picked up assists on the night.

Anaheim still lost 4-2, its second straight defeat. Sennecke and the Ducks head to New York on Monday with a prettier highlight than result.

We're going to try to make this a daily tradition, with a top 5 of the night's best plays from around the league every single day.

So take a minute, sit back and enjoy the hockey being served up right now. The modern game has never looked this fast or this skilled.

And tonight's slate already gets its shot at cracking tomorrow's list.
