Dallas Stars place two players on waivers: Glen Gulutzan makes his choice

Kyle Burroughs is out of the Dallas mix after Glen Gulutzan's Stars placed the defenseman on waivers as roster cuts tightened.

Dallas also placed Matthew Seminoff on waivers Thursday, giving the Stars two names on a league-wide list of 30 players exposed before final rosters are set.

The timing matters. The NHL season begins September 29, leaving Dallas with only days to settle the last battles at the bottom of its roster.

Burroughs is the more experienced name of the two, and his placement gives Dallas a clearer picture on the blue line heading into the final stretch of camp.
