On Monday, a total of four players were placed on waivers, two on normal waivers (AHL assignment) and two on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract buyout

According to Elliotte Friedman, Islanders forward Leo Komarov and Canadiens forward Alex Belzile are on waivers while Oilers prospect Kirill Maksimov and Islanders forward Dmytro Timashov have been placed on unconditional waivers.

The biggest name among today's group is Leo Komarov. The Narva, Estonia native is in the final year of a four-year contract he signed back in 2018. He's set to earn $3 million and has a modified no-trade clause which includes a seven team no trade list.

Komarov, 34, has appeared in one game this season with the Islanders, has no points, and two penalty minutes. He played in all 19 playoff games this past season, recording three assists, and fourteen penalty minutes.
