Dylan Larkin's name keeps circling back to the Philadelphia Flyers, and Detroit's front office turmoil just gave that rumor more oxygen.
Steve Yzerman is out as Red Wings general manager, and that departure leaves Larkin's trade request in someone else's hands entirely.
The captain requested a move out of Detroit, and his original list of preferred destinations reportedly included Florida, Minnesota, and Vegas. Philadelphia wasn't on it.

Flyers general manager Daniel Briere has reportedly shown interest, and Philadelphia holds the kind of young trade chips that could grab Detroit's attention.
So why isn't Philadelphia already on Larkin's list? Immediate contenders like Florida and Vegas likely still outrank a team that's still finishing its own climb.
Head coach Rick Tocchet would inherit a legitimate number one center, someone who can drive the rush, run the power play, and handle tough matchups nightly.
Trevor Zegras ran the middle well this season, posting 26 goals and 41 assists for 67 points in 81 games, but Larkin's arrival would free him to slide to the wing.
Matvei Michkov is the one name the Flyers reportedly won't touch in any Larkin package, an untouchable piece of the rebuild at just 21.
Porter Martone and Tyson Foerster carry similar untouchable status, meaning Detroit would need to dig into a different tier of the system for real compensation.
Emptying that prospect pool for a captain who hasn't even approved the destination feels like the wrong bet for a team still building with patience.
Philadelphia reportedly projects real cap space this summer, enough to absorb Larkin's contract without needing Detroit to retain a dollar of it.
None of that matters if Larkin never adds Philadelphia to his list. A no-trade clause like this works like a deed to a house, and right now, Larkin's still the only signature that counts.
