RJ Celebrini has caught the attention of Ryan Warsofsky's Sharks without playing a single shift in San Jose.
The 13-year-old forward is creating serious buzz after appearing in a viral training clip alongside older brother Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Gavin McKenna.
RJ didn't look overwhelmed by the speed around him.
He stayed involved, handled the puck confidently and showed why his name is already circulating well beyond youth hockey circles.
His production has been just as difficult to ignore. RJ recorded 71 goals and 148 points across 60 games with the North Shore Winter Club U14 team.
Those numbers have pushed the youngest Celebrini into the spotlight much earlier than expected. Sharing the ice with established NHL talent only increased the attention around his development.
The clip shows RJ moving comfortably through drills while Macklin and the other high-end players work around him. There's no hesitation in his stride or puck movement.
Another Celebrini enters the hockey conversation
Macklin has already praised his younger brother publicly, describing RJ as a more offensively inclined player. That comparison carries weight coming from a former first-overall selection.
The Celebrini family already has deep ties to elite hockey. Aiden Celebrini plays on the blue line at Boston University and belongs to the Vancouver Canucks' prospect pool.
Now RJ is beginning to create his own identity. His hands, scoring touch and willingness to attack defenders have separated him from players in his age group.
A potential reunion with Macklin in San Jose remains nothing more than a distant possibility. RJ won't become draft eligible for several years, and development paths rarely follow a straight line.
Still, every new clip adds another layer to the discussion. Scouts will track how his skating, strength and decision-making progress as the competition gets older and faster.
For now, RJ remains a young player enjoying the game. But after holding his own beside Macklin, Smith and McKenna, he's no longer operating outside the hockey spotlight.
