The Montreal Canadiens are going to be without the services of defenceman Sami Niku for a little while according to head coach Dominique Ducharme. He added that Niku suffered a concussion following a hit from behind in Friday night's loss to Ottawa.

Niku left the game following the hit and did not return. No penalty was assessed to Norris on the play, and according to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, there will be no supplemental discipline from the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
"FWIW, I did check to see if Norris might get something from the league for this hit, but nothing coming. Should've for sure been a penalty. Not sure what the official who was standing right there saw..." Engels said in a tweet on Saturday morning.
Niku, 24, signed a one-year deal with the Canadiens just over a week ago after he mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Winnipeg Jets.
