Player agent Brian Bartlett is among many people who are undoubtedly upset over the recent events in the Ukrainian Hockey League. Andrei Deniskin, whow directed a racist gesture at a black opponent Jalen Smereck, has been suspended for a total of 13 games. Technically he only has to sit for 3 games, and can pay a fine in order to play in the other 10 games. The fine only amounts to $1880 USD for all 10 games.
Bartlett was unhappy about this, and went to Twitter to say that he will not be sending any import players to the Ukrainian Hockey League. He also went on to say that he encourages other agents to do the same thing, as the league did not do enough to eliminate hate from the game.
Bush-league is as bush-league does. We will never send an import player to @uhlua. I'd encourage other agents to do the same. The league has enabled the exclusion and hate we've all been working to eliminate from our game; All while pretending to take a «stand». https://t.co/paC2mjrEDv— Brian Bartlett (@BBarts) September 29, 2021
Bartlett represents many notable players in the NHL including Cale Makar, Justin Faulk, J.T. Miller, Blake Coleman, and many others.
