Hunter Warner has made a living on the ice the past few seasons mostly with his fists. Now, he's decided to make a move that will continue to see him use his fists to make money, but no skates included. Warner, 25, has decided to retire from professional hockey in order to pursue a career in pro boxing as a heavyweight.

"I'm so excited to announce I'm pursuing a professional boxing career as a Heavyweight and I am officially retiring from my professional hockey career with the @minnesotawild @iowawld organization," said Warner via his Instagram account. "It was an amazing journey and I met many amazing people and I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunities and places hockey took me. With that being said I'm fired up for this new journey and to sign under longtime family friend and CEO of @herosportsmanagement @jrichmann . Grateful to be working with my teammate and brother @coltlwarner and being trained by my father and my hero @jeff_warner."

Warner has a long list of altercations you can view on HockeyFights.com. The six-foot-four, 223 pounder has never shied away from dropping the gloves.

Warner, a native of Minnesota, has had a couple of two-way contracts with the Minnesota Wild over the years, but played all of his games with Iowa of the AHL. He was never drafted, instead signing an entry-level contract with Minnesota as a free agent back in 2016. All the best to him in his new career!
