The Dallas Stars will be looking to rebound from a tough 2020-21 campaign, which saw them miss the playoffs just one season after a Stanley Cup Finals appearance against the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019-20 in the Edmonton bubble.

A big reason for the huge drop-off for the Stars last season was due, at least in part, to a pair of notable injuries to goaltender Ben Bishop and forward Tyler Seguin.

Bishop, 34, had undergone knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus prior to the start of the 2020-21 campaign and couldn't quite make his way back prior to season's end.

Per DallasStarsdotcom's Mike Heika, it appears as though Bishop will require more time to rehab his way back from the injury and is likely to miss training camp.

Meanwhile, Seguin missed almost the entire 2020-21 season as well, suiting up in just 3 contests at the end of last season, after undergoing hip surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Seguin, 29, experienced a rather large dip in his production in 2019-20, managing just 17 goals and 50 points in 69 games - the lowest his production has been in almost a decade.

Seguin has reportedly been working out over the offseason to get himself back into prime playing shape in hopes of regaining the form that saw the Brampton, Ontario native score 33 goals and 80 points in 82 games back in 2018-19.

If Seguin can continue to progress over the next month-and-a-half and have himself a strong training camp, I see no reason why he wouldn't be a difference-maker for the Stars in 2021-22.

Bishop is the real question mark here. Though the Stars have a very capable tandem in veteran Anton Khudobin and 22-year-old Jake Oettinger, a healthy Bishop can be an absolute gamebreaker.
