The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed forward Ross Colton to a two-year deal worth $2.25 million according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The first year of the contract will see Colton earn $1 million and he'll make $1.25 million in the second year.

The Robbinsville, New Jersey native was a restricted free agent and was set to have an arbitration hearing on August 16th.

Colton, 24, played a key role in helping the Lightning win their second consecutive Stanley Cup. The 2020-21 season was his first in the NHL and he tallied 12 points (9 G, 3 A) in 30 games. In the playoffs, Colton scored the Stanley Cup clinching goal during game five of the Final against the Montreal Canadiens.
