Since being publicly accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel back in 2017, former Vancouver Canucks Jake Virtanen has been noticeably silent. Virtanen, who was recently bought out of his contract with Vancouver, has said nothing regarding the allegations that came to light this summer or what he intends to do in regards to his career in the NHL. Now, the 24-year-old has released a lengthy statement through his agent where he denies all of the allegations and adds the details of the lawsuit against him were never supposed to reach the public. Virtanen also believes the case being made public has made things extremely difficult for him as he's been trying to adhere to the court's order. Here is the statement in full as presented by his agent, Kevin Epp.
