TSN reporter reveals Seattle's selection from Calgary
As news continues to come in regarding Seattle's selections in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft, TSN reporter Salim Valjim has confirmed that the Kraken will select Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano.
"BREAKING - I can confirm that the Seattle Kraken have chosen Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano as their pick at the Expansion Draft, to be announced this evening." Valji said in a tweet on Wednesday.
Giordano, 37, has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $6.75 million. The Toronto, Ontario native has spent parts of 16 seasons in Calgary, eight of which he was captain. In 56 games this season, he recorded 26 points (9 G, 17 A), 14 penalty minutes, and was a +5.
