Last Thursday featured one of the biggest international events in recent memory, as the best players in the National Hockey League representing Canada and the United States faced off for national pride in a winner-take-all match in the 4 Nations Faceoff.
And while Canada claimed victory in that contest, the two rival hockey nations faced one another days earlier in Montreal, home of the Montreal Canadiens.
Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand, normally an enemy inside of Bell Centre, was instead a valuable veteran leader on the Canadian squad, and he helped to fire up his teammates before the first meeting against the Americans.
Canadian head coach Jon Cooper tried to hand the lineup card to Marchand, who responded that he didn't need it.

While Marchand and the Canadiens lost to the Americans 3-1 in the contest in Montreal, they avenged the loss by dramatically capturing the 4 Nations title with an OT win in Boston.
Talk about an unusual sight to see, but the Bruins could very well be faced with the possibility of having to make difficult decisions at the upcoming Trade Deadline.
Right now, Marchand is playing in the last year of his current contract and there's reportedly been zero progress on a new contract for beyond this year.
While Marchand has openly voiced his desire to play his entire NHL career with the Bruins, that decision may be out of his hands if Bruins management feels that a major change is needed.
