Montreal Canadiens Analyst Proposes Outrageous Blockbuster Trade for Sidney Crosby

Montreal Canadiens analyst Martin Lemay proposed a shocking trade today involving Sidney Crosby and the Canadiens.

Sidney Crosby is without a doubt one of the most iconic Canadian hockey players of all time.

Last night, he lead Team Canada to a 4-3 overtime victory over Team Sweden in the Four Nations Tournament, leading all skaters with three points in the contest.

Just days ago, it was unclear whether or Not Crosby would even play as he recently suffered an injury with the Penguins.

Luckily, he was able to get into the lineup, otherwise Sweden may very well have ended up taking home the three points for a win.

That being said, Crosby's time in the NHL is coming to a close as he enters his late 30's.

With the Penguins being stuck in rebuild mode, it has left many fans wondering if he will really spend the final days of his career in Pittsburgh or not.

Understandably, many fans have been proposing mock trades that would send him to a contender for one last chance to win a Stanley Cup.

Today, Montreal Canadiens analyst Martin Lemay gave us his own proposal that would send the Penguins legend to Montreal.

Caufield is certainly a piece Pittsburgh could build around as he is more than a decade younger than their captain.

He leads the Canadiens in goals this year with 26 and is just three points back of Nick Suzuki for the team scoring lead.

Not to mention the fact that Montreal will likely continue to be mediocre in the next couple of years, so those first-round picks could end up being very valuable.

That being said, would it even make sense for the Canadiens to target Crosby?

Even if it did, would he be willing to waive his trade protection to go there?

These are questions that we may very well never get answers to.
