Boston Bruins Captain Brad Marchand Comments on Rampant Trade Rumours
The Boston Bruins are reportedly prepared to be sellers ahead of the 2025 trade deadline, and now Brad Marchand has commented on the possibility of being moved.
This season has been a very weird one for the Boston Bruins, as the team have shown great potential, but at this point in time they sit on the outside looking in at the Staley Cup Playoff race, with some expecting them to be sellers ahead of the 2025 trade deadline.
One player that has been in the rumours is captain Brad Marchand, who is set to be a free agent in the summer, and while he doesn't expect to be moved, he addressed the speculation on Tuesday.
What makes Marchand so confident is his relationship with the Bruins organization, for whom he wants to play for a long, long time, with the 36-year old believing that he'll retire a Boston Bruin.
Given some of the moves this team has made in recent years, it's unclear if the loyalty is going to go both ways, and if the team believe getting an asset back for Marchand at the deadline is the way to go, then we could see a shocking deal on the way soon.
Ultimately though, it's more likely than not that the team will keep Marchand moving forward and ink him to a new deal in the off-season, but given some of the shocks we've seen in the sports world as of late, absolutely anything could truly happen.
