New York Rangers Scratch Multiple Top Prospects: Blockbuster Trade Likely Coming

Several top New York Rangers prospects are being scratched tonight indicating that the team may be preparing for a major trade.

It is common practice for NHL teams to make players a healthy scratch if they are actively involved in trade discussions.

After all, teams would not want to be on the verge of trading a player only for him to get hurt in a game.

This often extends to the team's prospects as well as they are often major parts of trades.

That may very well be what is happening tonight for the New York Rangers.

Several of the Hartford Wolfpack's top forwards are healthy scratches tonight for seemingly no other reason.

Naturally, this has lead to speculation that the Rangers could be preparing for a reunion with JT Miller.

This also comes at the same time Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that the team is 'working hard' on finalizing a deal for Miller.

This could not come at a better time for Vancouver as the locker room issues have started to affect just about everyone on the team.

Just this morning, a report emerged that Thatcher Demko's love for the sport has dwindled, likely as a result of playing on the same team as Miller.

Miller does have a reputation for being a tricky player to work with in the locker room and that preceded his time in Vancouver.

All of these signs seem to point to the same thing. The Canucks and Rangers are close to a trade centered around JT Miller.
