Jordan Reaves Calls Out Darnell Nurse After He Plays the Victim Following Hit From Brother Ryan
Jordan Reaves, Ryan Reaves' younger brother, called out Darnell Nurse today as part of the ongoing feud between the two players.
Obviously, the feud started when the Leafs enforcer hit him in the head last Saturday, knocking him out of the game.
Of course, Reaves himself was also ejected from the match and later received a five-game suspension for the infraction.
That could have been the end of it but this is the NHL so of course there was going to be more drama.
Yesterday, Nurse made a statement about the hit, revealing how he really feels about it after having a few days to collect his thoughts.
Nurse took another shot at Reaves during the same interview, saying he's 6'4" but nothing but his head got hit.
Many believe, however, that Reaves was not solely responsible for the outcome of the play.
Many fans correctly noted that Nurse had his head down the entire time, making him at least partially responsible for the contact.
After all, if he had his head up and saw Reaves coming, he could have braced for impact or potentially deked him to avoid the hit altogether.
One notable fan who made this argument was Reaves' younger brother Jordan, who joined in on the chirps for Nurse having his head down.
Jordan was not the only one to clap back at Nurse. One fan joked that it is 'pretty obvious' Nurse is stealing his salary from the team, referencing his poor play in recent seasons.
Will this be the end of the drama between these two players? Probably not. The two teams face each other again on February 1st and we can be pretty certain that something will go down in that one. Will Reaves and Nurse drop the gloves? We'll just have to wait to find out.
