The QMJHL has been known to always produce generational NHL talent, and it appears the next superstar in the making has been known: Maddox Dagenais.

A good first impression is often what sets the record for future success, and in sports, this is not any different. In the case of having made an impacting debut, it defines their career, at least for the selected few, in such a manner that they are remembered by one and all. Maddox Dagenais falls into that category.
All but a guarantee to be the next NHL superstar is that the first overall pick in the QMJHL draft made such an impression. A great performance at the Ontario under-16 level left little question, thus making him a no-brainer to be named the next great generational talent.
For instance, when he was playing with the Quinte Red Devils, he ruled on the ice, posting as many as 81 points, with 42 goals and 39 assists, in only 39 games. Such a high caliber of performance says much about his future potential.
Yet talent isn't everything, and opportunity seems to balance it out, as in Dagenais's case, where he doesn't only have the skill but also a clear path to succeed in the league, as he just recently tore it up with the Quebec Remparts in their most recent game.
It seems the Remparts did recognize his huge potential and, with their championship window still wide open, they are committed to building a team around him. The blend of his talent and the opportunity seems to make Maddox Dagenais a cornerstone for future success of the franchise, and one day in the NHL.
