The KHL is one of the toughest hockey leagues in the entire world, and in a brutal scene, one of their key players has now been stretchered off the ice.

No matter where it's played in the world, hockey is a very dangerous sport, and with the game played at such high speeds, there's always a major risk of injury for anyone involved. Now, in a recent KHL game, we saw the brutal side effects of that, as Gleb Kuzmin was involved in a dreadful incident where he went into the boards head first, eventually needing to be stretchered off the ice.
It's unclear what condition the 27-year old is currently in, but it was a very scary moment in a tight game, with the fans watching on in shock. After the game, coach Darren Dietz made a comment wishing the young man well, and as we all do, hopes he can get back on the ice as soon as possible.
"These moments are just scary. I want to wish him only health and a speedy recovery. And for him to get out [on the ice] quickly," Darren Dietz post-game.
At the beginning of the play, this one seemed to be a very normal bit of contact between two players fighting for the puck, but with the speed that players are going at, sometimes all it takes is a little contract for something like this to happen. We will continue to give updates on this scary situation as they come through, but for now, we hope that Kuzmin can recover and get back on the ice with full confidence as this was a brutal incident that we hope never happens again.
