Edmonton Oilers' Corey Perry confirms retirement plans ahead of game 7
The Edmonton Oilers and Corey Perry are only one win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup. This would be Perry's first win since the 2007 Anaheim Ducks.
The 39-year-old has been to the Stanley Cup finals four times in the past five years, with the aforementioned Edmonton Oilers, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Dallas Stars, losing all three prior to this one.
A storied career, highlighted by a 50-goal, Hart Trophy winning season, many believed that the 2003 first round pick would be eyeing retirement following this season, especially considering the escapades he went through with the Chicago Blackhakws earlier this season, but Corey Perry has now made things clear - retirement is not in the cards, and he intends to play for several more years.
Corey Perry, when asked if tomorrow would be his last game in his NHL career:
"Uh, no. I still have more to give. There's much more in me: another five years."
(The media scrum laughs).
"What's so funny? I feel like I'm 25!"

With everything on the line for Corey Perry to win his second ever Stanley Cup tomorrow night, he gave taps to his younger teammates at practice. When he won in 2007, he was only 22, and now 17 years later he may be the veteran presence in another Champion locker room.
Is Corey Perry destined for the hall of fame after these 20 years? That is still in question, but for now, he has no plans of calling it quits.
