The NHL is focused on capitalizing on this Stanley Cup Final. With viewership up, Gary Bettman's main focus is the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers.

For the remaining 30 teams in the league, however, it is now the off-season, and they are ready to make trades and signings. Unfortunately, it appears the NHL has warned them not to, in order to not divert attention from the Stanley Cup Finals.

With the Edmonton Oilers on the brink of elimination to the Florida Panthers tonight, the floodgates may open very quickly.

If the season ends tonight there is a chance we see a flood of moves by Monday. The league has gently nudged teams to let the Stanley Cup finish before they make any moves. While not enforceable the league has offered a suggestion to let the Cup be handed out without distraction.

It is unknown which teams have made pending moves, but it is possible big name players like Martin Necas will move imminently. This will be an interesting case to follow.
