Insider leaks that Cayden Lindstrom's injury history is worse than expected

Some tough news for Cayden Lindstrom, one of the top players for the 2024 NHL Draft. According to reports, Lindstrom, a projected top-five pick, has apparently been dealing with a herniated disc.

Lindstrom, who has been linked as high as 4th to the Columbus Blue Jackets and 5th to the Montreal Canadiens, has been own since mid-December with a reported back injury.

According to Corey Pronman of 'The Athletic', Lindstrom's injury was a bit more serious than just a back issue, with the Center dealing with is reported to be a herniated disc.

A personal source said recently that Lindstrom had been dealing with a much greater issue than just a typical back problem, and did not appear to be 100% physically ready in his return during the WHL playoffs.

Lindstrom, a top prospect in this year's draft, had 27 goals, 19 assists & 46 points in 32 games played for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. The 6'3 center is expected to go in the top-five of the 2024 NHL Draft, ranked highly by scouts, including 3rd by DobberProspects & EliteProspects, 5th by TSN's Bob McKenzie, and 10th by Craig Button.
