Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl is having the worst stretch of his career right now against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals.

He has been shut down by the Florida Panthers' defense, and by Sergei Bobrovsky's elite performances, and he can no longer be relied on as a guaranteed offensive producer when the Edmonton Oilers need him most.

His comments following the Edmonton Oilers' game 3 loss to the Florida Panthers, where they have now fallen down 3-0 in their series, and will need to pull of a full reverse sweep to win the Stanley Cup, were absolutely defeated, and it certainly seems like Leon Draisaitl has hit rock bottom.

"I pride myself on being good in the playoffs and playing well, just can't seem to get anything going."

A frustrated Leon Draisaitl speaks to the media after going down 0-3 in the #StanleyCup Final.

While he thinks of himself as a playoff producer, which he has been in less crucial rounds, if he cannot deliver when it matters most that may not be true. He is indisputably a top-5 player in the NHL, but both he and Connor McDavid, as well as their supporting cast of Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard have had struggles.

The Edmonton Oilers most likely won't win the 2024 Stanley Cup, but this experience has certainly shown them what they need to do to get back here in the next few years. That change starts with Leon Draisaitl.
